PQ, HQ, and NQ core

We drill PQ, HQ, and NQ core — several thousand meters of it under repeat contract on Timberline Resources Corporation’s northern Nevada exploration program:

“BSE’s drilling of PQ, HQ, and occasionally NQ core has been beyond expectation in production with consistently excellent recovery in difficult, broken, often highly altered rock all under sometimes difficult site (including winter) conditions.”

Flexibility and adaptability to hole conditions

We established Big Sky Exploration out of a pure passion for diamond core drilling. In our many years of experience, we have determined that flexibility, mixed with adaptability to hole conditions, maximizes core recovery. With our “old school” approach that every drill hole can be completed, we take great pride in each and every accomplishment.

Two tools make that practical: drill bits customized by the manufacturer for the ground you are drilling, and mud mixes designed for each specific project and adapted as hole conditions change.

Coordination with geologists and RC crews

As the Timberline Resources Corporation letter puts it, BSE pays “particular attention to coordinate with our geologists to develop an understanding of the rock character of our particular stratigraphy and structural zones.” Where a program pre-collars with reverse circulation, the same letter notes “excellent relationships with our RC drillers allowing a seamless, efficient coordination from RC pre-collar to core drilling.”
